Many parents struggle to get accommodations for students because they do not have the correct documentation and do not know what accommodations are available. Special Education and 504 laws require specific data. New Jersey School Districts often use the excuse of imprecise data or documentation to deny or delay necessary accommodations for students. We have helped parents obtain the evidence required to obtain the 504 accommodations for their child to thrive in school. We have also compelled many school districts to fix or rewrite ineffective 504 plans, so they include proper and effective accommodations.
Many New Jersey School Districts delay or ignore bullying issues because of the conflicting data or lack of proof of the allegation. Bullying cases are often challenging to prove, especially when there are conflicting stories. Under the special education and 504 laws, New Jersey School Districts need to address bullying not only when it occurs but whenever a student perceives that they are a victim of bullying. We have utilized the special education and 504 laws to help many parents in New Jersey obtain effective accommodations and services to address the bullying without waiting for the results of lengthy litigation or other bureaucratic processes.

Our knowledge of special education law and related laws can help parents with many issues related to schools and students. Under the 504 law, New Jersey School Districts need to provide many students with disabilities with reasonable accommodations to allow them to equally participate in their education. The 504 and special education laws can be valuable tools in protecting students from a variety of issues, including bullying, test anxiety, social anxiety, and school phobia. We have helped numerous parents obtain effective and enforceable accommodation plans that have helped allow students to return and thrive in school.
